1. The Classic: Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients: 3 tablespoons butter, 10 ounces marshmallows, 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

Instructions: Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until they are melted. Remove from heat and add the Rice Krispies cereal. Mix until well coated. Press into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Let cool before cutting into squares.



2. Fun and Festive: Candy Cane Krispie Treats

Ingredients: 3 tablespoons butter, 10 ounces marshmallows, 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal, 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

Instructions: Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until they are melted. Remove from heat and add the cereal and peppermint extract. Mix until well coated. Press into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Let cool before cutting into squares. After cutting, top each treat with a candy cane.



3. The No-Bake Treat: Peanut Butter Balls

Ingredients: 1 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 3 cups Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch cereal

Instructions: In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until well blended. Add cereal and mix until well coated. Roll mixture into 1 inch balls. Place on wax paper-lined baking sheet. Let stand for 30 minutes or until set.



4. Festive and Delicious: Elf on the Shelf Cookies

Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon allspice, 1/3 cup butter, 2/3 cup light brown sugar, 1 egg, 1 tablespoon molasses, “Elf on the Shelf” Hot Cocoa Cereal

Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. In a large bowl, beat together butter and light brown sugar until creamy. Beat in egg and molasses until well blended. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, mixing until just blended.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 minutes, or until cookies are light golden brown around the edges. Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.



5. Sweet and Simple: Vanilla-Glazed Marshmallow Cookies

Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, 3/4 cup butter, softened, 1 cup granulated sugar, 2 eggs, Marshmallow Bits Cereal

Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. In a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, mixing until just blended.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 minutes, or until cookies are light golden brown around the edges. Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon milk until smooth; stir in cereal. Drizzle over cooled cookies. Top with Marshmallow Bits Cereal.
